Culprit saw over 1,000 social security numbers

LEWISBURG — Over 1,000 student social security numbers were accessed during last month’s data breach at the Lewisburg Area School District. Superintendent Dr. Mark DiRocco issued a news release with the latest updates in the investigation.   DiRocco says the Buffalo Valley Regional Police Department is still investigating. A forensic analysis is being conducted on the school computers used by the student culprit, as well as the student’s personal devices. DiRocco says so far they know that approximately 1,320 of the district’s 1,960 students had social security number in the data file that was accessed.   While the investigation was initially supposed to take two weeks, DiRocco says it is now expected to take another...
