LEWISBURG- Kids with food allergies shouldn’t be scared when trick-or-treating this Halloween. There’s the Teal Pumpkin to help. The Allergy Partners Lewisburg is hosting a ‘Teal Pumpkin’ event Saturday October 24 from 3-5 p.m. at the Donald Heiter Community Center. The event is for kids dealing with any type of food allergy. Dr. Nathan Hare of Allergy Partners Lewisburg, “The idea here is the teal pumpkin is supposed to signify that your house is safe for kids who are trick-or-treating who have food allergies.” To accommodate kids with these food allergies, lots of allergy-free and non-food treats such as such as dum-dum lollipops, pencils and crayons will be handed out.
