LEWISBURG — Development of the Buffalo Valley Rail Trail will continue in part thanks to a grant from Pennsylvania’s Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. A $488,000 grant was awarded recently. Work will continue on the rail trail to extend it into Lewisburg Borough. Construction will include .6 miles of trail from 12th Street in East Buffalo Township to 5th Street and to Market Street in Lewisburg. There will also be a mid-way trailhead in Vicksburg, which will include restrooms, a pavilion and more. The total project is $973,300 and DCNR had already awarded a grant of $485,300 in May to assist in construction. (Sara Bartlett)
