SUNBURY — Action-packed, loud movies are not always comfortable for children with special needs. That is why the Geisinger Autism and Developmental Medicine Institute is continuing to feature sensory friendly films at the Campus Theatre. Megan Epler is community liaison for ADMI. She said, “It was created initially for kids with autism and other developmental disabilities. The theater is adjusted to help make kids more comfortable. The lights aren’t totally dark, they are dimmed but still on. The sound is turned down a bit. Most importantly, it’s a very comfortable atmosphere. Kids who have trouble sitting still or have trouble staying quiet, they are welcome to make noise and get up and move around...
