LEWISBURG — Local children got a ‘cool’ experience Wednesday watching the Lewisburg Ice Rink come to life. With the help of the William Cameron Engine Company, the Buffalo Valley Recreation Authority filled the rink using water from a nearby creek. A handful of children taking part in the recreation authority’s ‘Nature’s Cool’ class got to watch. BVRA expects the ice rink, at St. Mary and St. Lawrence Streets in Lewisburg, to open this weekend and stay open through March 2015. The ice rink offers open skates, along with a number of themed activities and a chance for private rental throughout the winter.
