LEWISBURG — Parks in Lewisburg are about to become less shady. Due to an invasion of Emerald Ash Borer, nearly 170 trees are coming down in Lewisburg. Trey Casimir is chair of the Lewisburg Shade Tree Commission, “We’ve been invaded by the Emerald Ash Borer, which is an invasive beetle from China, which has a terribly efficient rate of killing ash trees. They are rapidly becoming a danger to our residents, so we’ve got no choice but to remove them.” The trees will be removed within the next six weeks.
