LEWISBURG – Volunteers are needed on Saturday to help get the Lewisburg Community Pool ready for the 2014 summer season. Community members are needed to help with painting, weeding, grout removal and other tasks. Katie Davis is executive director of the Buffalo Valley Recreation Authority and talked about the importance of community pools. Davis said, “It’s a way for children to learn how to swim in more of a casual setting. It’s a place for people to meet parents and children. We have a bunch of summer camps that actually visit the pool throughout the summer, including our own. It adds a different activity for those kids to do.” Pool Manager Desiree Ramirez...
